The Grass Between Words by Vivi Nia Gao

This sketchbook explores my fascination with grass in all its forms—how it adapts to its environment and to the con- tours of the body, within the framed space of a letter-sized page. It stretches, softens, and shifts within limits. The layered tones of green, unstable and unpredictable, come to symbolize that very uncertainty—of place, of identity, of becoming.
